Return to IRL

The Harris Poll recently released The Return to Touch Report based on surveys of 2,068 U.S. adults earlier this year.It was aimed at retail, but revealed a trend: "In 2007, the launch of the iPhone redefined what it meant to touch technology - ushering in an era where screens became our primary interface with the world. . . But today, the pendulum is swinging back toward three-dimensional touch. It's in real life."

Harris found that 78% of Americans prefer IRL experiences and in-person social existence to digital-only. This helps explain the growing popularity of location-based entertainment venues that focus on providing a high-quality social experience to attendees, especially social gaming venues (inappropriately called competitive socializing by many in the industry).
