Dinner and a movie continues to expand

In past issues, we have covered the nascent eatertainment trend in the movie industry of offering dinner and a movie or combining cinemas with restaurants. The National Association of Theatre Owners (www.natoonline.org/ ) estimates there are now 400 theaters that offer restaurant and bar service. Patrick Corcoran, director of media and research, says, "They are part of a trend, high-end and otherwise, to capture the 'dinner and a movie' crowd that used to go elsewhere for the dinner part."
