Editor's Corner

Producing this eNewsletter takes a considerable effort each month. So we are always pleased when we receive e-mails thanking us for it because it lets us know people actually read it. Last month, one reader sent us the following:

"Thank you very much for sending me a copy of your eNewsletter. I happened to have a few moments and read through it. I wanted to send you this note to say that I was favorably impressed. I was most struck by your scholarship. Your application and analysis of psychological research, quotes from contemporary journals, and mastery of industry trends and resources was readily apparent... I know how incredibly time-consuming it is to prepare meaningful written product. I tip my hat to you for your efforts."

This month we're continuing our diverse coverage of the location-based leisure (LBL) industry. With the exception of facilities that target an adult-only market, attracting the family market is essential to success. And family means kids. Our in-depth article on designing for children takes a broad look at all the factors essential to creating attractive, safe and successful leisure environments for children. We take a look at our latest project to open, Paradise Park, a hybrid of family entertainment and children's edutainment. And because food is crucial to success in our industry, we continue our coverage of food trends driven by major changes in guests' tastes and dietary needs. Also, you'll want to consider registering for the next Foundations Entertainment University. It's a must for anyone thinking about developing a location-based entertainment facility. Oh, and don't forget to check out our newest projects that include the world's first municipal-owned children's edutainment center, a children's social services project in Beirut, Lebanon, and Christian edutainment.
