Restaurants concepts have successfully integrated food and entertainment into what is called restaurant-entertainment or eatertainment concepts. Perhaps one of the earliest examples of this eatertainment phenomenon are Chuck E. Cheese's restaurants. Another example of restaurant-entertainment that caters to an adult market is Dave & Buster's. What are known as pizza and games concepts, such as Peter Piper Pizza, fall into this category. Another form of eatertainment venue are family pizza buffet/entertainment centers. All these venues belong to the category of community leisure venues (CLVs), as they cater to a community market rather than a tourist-based one and as such, are highly dependent on repeat business.

Recently, food and beverage has moved from the background to the forefront to become THE anchor attraction at many CLVs that include entertainment. Movie theaters are adding dining destination food and drink. At new CLV models, such as Punch Bowl Social, food and beverage generates the vast majority of revenues.

Our work includes name and brand development; full architectural, interior design and kitchen design; menu development, recipes, product sourcing and full kitchen/restaurant start-up and training and operational consulting.

Our development work has included the design of major food service components and restaurants in entertainment, edutainment and CLV facilities including:

• Davis Farmland & Davis Mega Farm Festival in Sterling, MA. We’ve worked with this client for 24 years on their multiple food and beverage venues including their Herd Rock Calf restaurant. Recently we brought Kansas City BBQ to all their food locations.
• Table 47 is the 316-seat highly sustainable, scratch-kitchen, farm & sea to table destination restaurant and coffee cafe in the Ocean5 57,000-square-food CLV venue in the South Puget Sound region of Washington. We worked with the former COO of Starbucks for nine years to make the project a reality.
• Doc Brundy’s is a 16,000-square-foot sodacad and café that combines duckpin bowling, pinball games and a destination homemade ice cream and soda fountain concept with a casual dining café for its predominately Mormon market.
• Twin Waters Entertainment Center in Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria that includes a 249 seat destination restaurant and bar
• Helio Center in Da Nang, Vietnam - a 157,000 square foot entertainment center that includes a foot court, a destination sit down restaurant and a coffee-bakery café
• Club Liko, a 2,200 m2 ladies club and children's edutainment center in 6th of October (Cairo), Egypt
• Yummy in Your Tummy Cafe in the 28,000 sf Bamboola children's edutainment center in San Jose, California
• Charlies' Diner in the 32-lane Olathe Lanes East Bowling Center
• LouLou's Café in the 2,400 square meter LouLou Al Dugong's children's play and discovery center in Dubai, U.A.E.
• Paradise Café in the 36,000 square foot indoor and 15-acre outdoor Paradise Park in Lee's Summit, Missouri.
• BellaBoo's Café in the 22,700 square foot children's play and discovery center in the Three Rivers Park in Lake Station/Gary Indiana that opened September 2009
• Max's Diner in the 5,000 square meter Dinotropolis children's entertainment center in Caracas, Venezuela
