Club Liko is the 2,300 square meter ladies membership club and children's edutainment and enrichment center we designed and are producing for our client in Cairo, Egypt, The project experienced a delay in obtaining a building permit due to the Arab Spring revolution there. Revolutions have a tendency to further complicate slow-moving bureaucracies.
Club Liko construction progress as of May 2012
The building permit was finally issued in November 2011 and construction is under way. It takes a lot of imagination to believe what is under construction will end up looking like the final project we designed.
When completed, Club Liko will be a three-story building with basement parking and will feature children's hands-on, interactive pretend play, two cafes, enrichment workshops, a rooftop birthday party/celebration center, outdoor terraces, patios and a children's discovery play garden (naturalized playground). We previously conducted the site evaluation and market and financial feasibility for the center.
Club Liko is scheduled to open in September 2015. Once it opens, we will be posting photographs.
